While Kyle Trask gave a boost to Florida’s offense, the Gators will have to find another alternative this Saturday.Unlike the Missouri Tigers, Florida struggled to find success through the air. Not only was Franks inaccurate with the football, but he also hasn’t shown any progression over the past two weeks. Then came Trask, who threw for 126 yards and one touchdown in less action. Although the sophomore quarterback might have been a starting option for the Gators, it appears he won’t have the chance to prove himself.According to Thomas Goldkamp of 247Sports, Trask suffered a “non-contact injury to a lower-body extremity in Wednesday’s practice and was carted off the field.”BREAKING: A #Gators quarterback was carted off the field with an injury in Wednesday’s practice. Source told me program fears it will hold him out for remainder of season.— Graham Hall (@GrahamHall_) November 8, 2018Emory Jones is the only other candidate to play under center for Florida, besides Franks. Considering that Franks has more experience and familiarity with the offense, he’ll most likely resume his role as the starter.Florida will host South Carolina this weekend.Hopefully, Trask recovers from this heartbreaking injury and returns even stronger for the Gators.last_img read more
