Out of all the programs in the country, Clemson should be the most thrilled about where it’s ranked.After winning last season’s national championship in dominant fashion, the Tigers are back to defend their title.Dabo Swinney has an absolutely loaded roster for this season, which features Trevor Lawrence, Travis Etienne and Justyn Ross. All three are rising prospects at their respective positions.With the regular season almost here, Clemson sits atop the Coaches’ Poll for the first time in the school’s history. Even though most people thought Clemson would be ranked No. 1 heading into the preseason, it doesn’t diminish this achievement.Before this version of the Coaches’ Poll released, the Tigers’ best preseason ranking was No. 2, which they received last year and in 2016. Swinney has led his team to the College Football Playoff in four-straight seasons.Making the national championship again won’t be an easy task for the Tigers, but they do have a favorable schedule.Clemson hosts Georgia Tech on August 29 to start its regular season.
